The Island of Islay is the most Southernly of the Hebridean Isles, and in fact lies directly West from the City of Glasgow.

The stunning scenery is spotted with villages which are spread throughout the island. The two main ferry ports, Port Ellen and Port Askaig, both welcome the Calmac ferries to dock. Whilst the small, yet international, airport located at Glenegedale offers twice daily flights to Glasgow Airport throughout the year.

Islay is famously known for its whisky distilleries, which produce some of the finest malt whisky in the world. Information on tours including booking and locations, is available within The Corner House's guest pack.

If whisky is not your thing, then Islay is sure to keep you entertained regardless. With a busy social calendar including Jazz, Book and Classical Music Festivals, ceilidhs and concerts galore, we're never short on entertainment.

Being a small island, Islay is surrounded by some of the most beautiful coastline you will ever see. Machir Bay, The 'Big Strand', Battery and Kilnaughton all boast beautiful walks for you to take. The two RSPB reserves on the island allow you to spot rare and common wildlife alike.

What ever your reason for visiting our beautiful island, we look forward to you visiting.
